How Plinko Works
A ball is released from the top of the board and falls under gravity. Each time it reaches a peg, it bounces and changes direction slightly. After passing through the peg field, the ball reaches one of the numbered bins at the bottom.
1
Drop
Release a ball from a random position near the top of the board.
2
Bounce
Gravity pulls the ball downward while the pegs deflect its path.
3
Land
The ball eventually settles into one of the bottom bins.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Plinko machine?
Plinko is a simple physics-style game where a ball falls
through rows of pegs and bounces from side to side before
landing in a numbered slot at the bottom.
Is the ball's path completely predictable?
No. Small changes in the ball's starting position and
collisions with the pegs create different paths. This
simulation also introduces small variations to make each
drop feel natural.
Does every bin have the same chance?
Not necessarily. Because of the shape of the board and the
physics of repeated bounces, some central bins can receive
more balls than the outer bins over many drops.
Can I drop multiple balls?
Yes. Use the Drop 10 button or select a larger number from
the Balls menu to run a larger batch.
Does this tool need an external library?
No. The Plinko simulation is built with native HTML,
CSS, Canvas and JavaScript, so it does not depend on
external libraries.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The board automatically scales to the available screen
width and the controls are designed for touch interaction.
Does the sound require an external file?
No. Optional collision sounds are generated directly in the
browser using the Web Audio API. The simulation still works
if audio is unavailable.
Plinko outcomes are simulated for entertainment and do not represent guaranteed probabilities or real-world gambling odds.
