Find & Replace Text FAQ

What is a Find and Replace Text Tool?

A Find and Replace Text Tool lets you quickly search for specific words or phrases in your text and replace them with different text. It is useful for editing documents, articles, notes, website content, and other text.

How do I use the Find and Replace tool?

Paste your text into the text box, enter the word or phrase you want to find, then enter the replacement text. Choose your preferred options and select Find & Replace to generate the updated text.

Can I replace every matching word at once?

Yes. The Replace all matches option lets you replace every matching occurrence in the text in one action.

What does case sensitive mean?

When Case sensitive is enabled, uppercase and lowercase letters must match exactly. For example, “Text” and “text” are treated as different matches.

Can I remove words or phrases instead of replacing them?

Yes. Leave the Replace With field empty and the selected text will be removed from the result.

What does Whole words only do?

Whole words only helps prevent partial matches inside larger words. For example, searching for “cat” will target the standalone word rather than matching part of another word.

Is this Find and Replace tool free?

Yes. The tool is designed for free online use and does not require an account or software installation.

Is my text uploaded to a server?

No. The Find and Replace processing is performed directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your text does not need to be uploaded to a server for the tool to work.

Can I download the replaced text?

Yes. After creating your result, select Download TXT to save the processed text as a plain text file.
